When I heard that Ms. Clarkson was going to sing Ave Maria for the pope, I about died. How awesome is it that the original Idol has become so popular and well-respected that she would be chosen to perform. That rocks. She, of course, is awesome throughout the song, but towards the end, she really kicks it into high gear and hits some oh so Kelly Clarkson notes - think "Natural Woman" season 1.
