The Cuteness says, "I've Never Been High"

DJ Slim over at IdolBlogLive is reporting an interview from OK Magazine with The Cuteness. In the interview, they ask JC about his alcohol and drug usage. He states that he didn't drink alcohol until about a year ago and that HE HAS NEVER BEEN HIGH . . . Hmmmm . . . I just don't know what to say . . . that must be some pretty strong hooka he's got.

There's not a whole lot to this video clip, just a TMZ reporter questioning The Cuteness about Lil David's dad. True to form, The Cuteness doesn't say anything bad, but just looks kinda goofy and cute and, ahem, mellow. The other thing that stands out is just how genuinely surprised he is that this reporter is talking to him. Just seems genuinely bumfuzzled and tickled. Click the link to see the video.

The Cuteness Shakes His Tambourine

The Cuteness – Mr. Tambourine Man – Gotta give The Cuteness credit for being himself. Again, he looks like he’s having a good time out there. Kind of just said “Screw it! I’m gonna smoke some primo weed, and get my folk on”. He kind of screwed up the lyrics, but his vocals were in tune, and he seemed like he was having fun. Randy thought it kinda sucked. Paula wasn’t blown away by the performance but was blown away by him. Simon told him to pack his bags.

I do heart The Cuteness, y'all, and I think he is better than last week, but . . . I don't know if he can stick around for another week . . . I have been saying that since the Top 6, though . . .

The Cuteness sings Bob Marley . . . Who'd a thunk it?

The Cuteness – He’s tokin a little I shot the sheriff tonight . . . I am digging that vibe . . . I really kind of loved that performance. Again, the vocals were not quite as good as the performance. I kind of loved it. Again, I am on the island of unpopular opinion . . . but, I thought it was fun, kooky, utterly Castro-like performance. Ugh, I knew it, Randy thought it was a mess, yo . . . Paula thought it was utterly Jason . . . and, Simon thought it was COMPLETELY ATROCIOUS!

Ok, ok, enough. Even I who have not been a supporter of The Cuteness over the past few weeks, think that Simon and Randy are going WAY overboard here. ENOUGH!

Not So Cute

I know Jason Castro is better known around here as The Cuteness, but after I saw this last night, I wondered what y'all thought about it: here's Brooke, crying her eyes out as she struggles to push through what must have been a painful, poignant last song on Idol, and Castro's grinning like a damn Cheshire Cat.

Forever Bored in September . . . .

Because my blog is a bit LIVE but tape delayed, I am going to reveiw both performances for each Idol in the same snippet . . . Here comes the Cuteness . . .

The Cuteness – Forever in Blue Jeans – Um, so, he sang the lyrics to the second song during the rehearsal for the first . . . Here we go . . . First thought, kind of boring . . . his vocals are ok, but his lower register is a little iffy . . . Joe Cocker like facial expressions are a wee bit strange . . . Overall, a pleasant but forgettable performance . . .

September Morn – The Cuteness is in trouble if he doesn’t blow it out the box here . . . lower register is better . . . pleasant but forgettable, again . . . Ugh, there was a moment he could have captured when the song elevated and he got off the stool . . . he missed it . . . he just looks bored . . . Quite frankly, he has looked a wee bored in both performaces . . . me too . . .

Randy thought that both performances were just kinda ok . . . La Crazy felt like he took the same “safe” liberty with both songs. . . Simon thought he was lazy and forgettable . . .
