A Couple of Finale Spoilers

Mjsbigblog has posted a wee bit of a spoiler and a clip from a press conference given by Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. It looks like for the "Contestant's Choice", Adam Lambert will be singing "Mad World" (remember stunning performance and blue light shooting from Adam's crotch) . . . while Kris is mulling reprising "Heartless" or "Falling Slowly" . . . the blog futher spoils that he is leaning towards "Falling Slowly" . . .

I hope that these spoilers are accurate because I think that "Mad World" and "Heartless"/"Falling Slowly" were three of the best performances of the season. We'll see what happens.

Top 3: The Spoilers for the Judge's Choice

Our first spoilers are trickling in thanks to our friends over at idolbloglive. The following songs have been spoiled for our three remaining Idols . . .

Danny Gokey - “Dance Little Sister” (Paula Picks)*
Kris Allen - “Apologize” (Randy Picks)
Adam Lambert - “One” (Simon Picks)

Now, I'm familiar with Kris' and Adam's picks and think they should blow these songs out of the water. However, I'm unfamiliar with Paula's pick for Gokey. I have read that it is a Terrance Trent D'arby song . . . I wonder if it will turn out to be a positive or a negative move to have him sing a less familiar song when the other two are singing VERY familiar songs. We'll see . . .

An Early Song Spoiler Post

The good folks over at Idol Blog Live have posted the following spoiler about tonight's Top 8

Top 8 RUMORED Song Spoiler*
Kris Allen - Heaven*
Lil Rounds - Let’s Hear It For the Boy*
Adam Lambert - Edge of Seventeen*
Scott MacIntyre - You’re the Inspiration*
Anoop Desai - Who’s Johnny*
Matt Giraud - Part Time Lover*
Allison Iraheta - Tears in Heaven*
Danny Gokey - Crazy Little Thing Called Love

If the above spoilers pan out, I'd say that my boy Kris, Adam, Danny, and Allison have chosen wisely. A big Yikes goes out to Lil Rounds, Anoop, and Matt G. And, as usual, a big YAWN goes out to Scott McIntyre.

What do y'all think?

Mimi and Cookie!

Well, it looks like Mimi will be on the Idol finale on Wednesday to try and emancipate our Cookie! Idol Blog Live is spoiling that Ms. Mimi and Cookie will be singing a duet that night. In addition, Carrie Underwood WILL be coming on to perform her single, "Last Name". Finally, there will be some "dead" duets during the telecast. Think Celine Dion and Elvis Presley from last year's inaugural episode of Idol Gives Back. Should be interesting. Please oh please do not let them put Lil Boo with an image of John Lennon . . . I'd kind of hope that Chris Brown comes on and refers to Lil David as his Lil Shawty!

Boo on Boo Finale: A Spoiler Update

So, DJ Slim over at Idol Blog Live is spoiling that David Cook has chosen to sing U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"

Also, it has been spoiled that both contestants will be allowed to choose any song from the Top 10 songwriter's Idol song selections . . . Smart move, I think, from the Idol Machine to let them have this many choices.

I can't wait for tomorrow, yo!

More Spoilers from the Boo vs. Boo Idol Death Match

An updated spoiler from the earlier spoiler . . . Idol Blog Live reported the information from the earlier post . . . however, TV Guide is now reporting that the David's will indeed be singing one repeat performance and one Clive Davis pick, but THEY WILL NOT BE SINGING THE IDOL THEME SONG . . . They are reporting that they will be singing some song from an online poll of top ten songs . . . where is this poll? why have we not seen it? WTF?

A Few Morsels of the Rich Tasty Goodness that is the American Idol Finale!

Ugh! I got to the bottom of this post and hit the FRACKING escape key, and have had to start over . . . UGH!

And go . . . DJ Slim over at Idol Blog Live continues to spoil all of the juicy tidbits . . . Here are a few morsels pertaining to the Idol Finale Results Show!

* Paula will debut a new song from her upcoming album - Er . . . Um . . . live, seriously, I'm just not sure . . . I mean, I have this image stuck in my head of Paula and her back up dancers partially blinding me one year during the MTV Video Music Awards with their interpretation of her song, "Vibeology" . . . Anyone remember that . . . . Anyhoo, I suppose she could lipsync or sing with a track as it has been rumored that Jordin Sparks and Leona Lewis did . . . seriously yo, maybe I'm mistaken, but did I miss the lesson in school about how to make your voice sound like its echoing . . .

* Top 12 will perform as a group with Paula - Could assist in the aforementioned "live" performance and lead me to only jab one of my eyes out with a hot poker.

* The SYTYCD Dancers will perform on Wednesday - Very curious about this one . . . A few of my friends watch this show and absolutely HEART it!

* Each of the Top 5 will duet with a celebrity - I have one request of TPTB, please keep Meat Loaf away from our Idols . . . I still have about half of a toothpick remaining in my right ear from the debacle that was The Loaf and The McPheever . . . I mean, can y'all imagine The Loaf with Lil Boo or Brooke . . . All I can envision is both of them on stage with The Loaf, doing their best to get through the performance, but all the while sporting a look, that if translated, would read something like this . . . "For the love of La Seacrest, please don't let this big scary man get anywhere near me . . . feets don't fail me now!!"

* 2 previous Idols from each of the past seasons will perform - Now, this one could be very fun . . . depending on who they get . . .

My requests:

Season 1: Tamyra Gray and RJ Helton (CutieMcPretty)
Season 2: Trenyce and KLo
Season 3: LATOYA LONDON . . . that is all
Season 4: Vonzelle and AFed (I heart him)
Season 5: Bucky (singing Fat Bottomed Girls!) and Elliot - Vote Like YAMIN it!
Season 6: Blake and Chris Richardson (for very selfish reasons) . . . I'm a Blaker Boy!

* The Jonas Brothers will perform - I knew they'd sneak them in some how.

What do y'all think of the makings of the Idol extravaganza?

American Idol Finale: Boo on Boo Spoilers!

DJ Slim over at Idol Blog Live has started to spill some spoilers about the finale. Another post will follow about the results show. However, it looks like there's been a wee bit of a change for the Tuesday night performance show . . . The contestants will only get one choice of song . . .the second belongs to one Mr. Clive Davis . . . And then of course, the idol schmaltzy song to conclude.

Only Lil Boo songs have spoiled . . .

1. Contestants choice (reprise) "Imagine"
2. Clive Davis' choice "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me

Yay, one for two baby! Ok, La Davis has not always provided the best song choices for our Idol finalists, but I gots to say, this choice should be right up Lil Boo's alley. Clear clean voice singing a clear clean song. Could prove moment worthy for Lil Boo . . .

Also, we now know who one the coin toss . . . THAT WAS COMPLETELY LEFT OFF OF THE TOP 3 RESULTS SHOW . . . bitter, party of one, my table is ready . . . anyhoo . . .
the following is the performance order.

1. Rocker Boo
2. Lil Boo

Lil David won the coin toss and elected to go second . . . duh . . . I don't think either of these two would pull the idiotic, albeit chivalrous, move of winning the coin toss and allowing the other person to choose. Also, I must correct myself . . . all Idols who have performed first have lost except Rueben Studdard. . .

More spoilers to come!

Early Song Spoilers: Part Tres

DJ Slim over at Idol Blog Live is reporting early song spoilers for next week's episode. Each of the Idols flew home this week, and, as you'll recall from past seasons, during these trips is when they receive the judge's song choice. I'll update as DJ Slim does. Here's what we've got so far . . .

David Cook: Judge's Choice (Simon) The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - Roberta Flack . . . Can I just tell you that this song is one of my top 5 all time favorites!!! I am so excited with the prospect of this performance. Could very much be an Idol Moment. David's Choice: The World I Know - Collective Soul - As opposed to Simon's choice, David's choice is pretty uninspired. Hope the producer's choice picks up the pace a bit. But still y'all . . . Roberta Flack . . . OMFG!

Syesha Mercado: Judge's Choice (Randy) If I Ain't Got You - Alicia Keys. Oh, ugh! Randy has given her the diva song that this girl so much longs for. I'm not sure this was the wisest choice OR maybe it was chosen to sink her so we can have a David's final. . . Why not give this girl an understated song like Corrine Bailey Ray or Norah Jones as a surprise pick . . . we'll see

Lil David - Judge's Choice (Paula) So It Goes - Billy Joel. I was not familiar with the name of this song, so I did a little Youtubage and discovered that it's pretty typical BJ fair. Very piano driven performance. Could be a BIG winner for Lil D, but, with the offstage daddy drama, I worry about his timing while tickling the ivories. Producer's Choice: - Longer - Dan Fogelberg. Very unfamiliar with this track. Will hit up the youtubage later to check it out. However, can I just ask a question . . . aside from Randy's unfortunate song choice for our resident fauxdiva . . . WHY CAN'T WE GET SONG CHOICES FROM THE LAST DECADE! Why oh why must all of these song choices draw on so much history. Personal Choice: "With You" - Chris Brown. FINALLY! FINALLY! Someone is singing a song from the past 12 months. A definite risk because everyone will be so familiar, but I'm proud of Lil Bit! For those of you, kinda like me, who don't always recognize songs from their title . . . It's the one that goes . . . "I need ya boo. I miss ya boo. Cuz there hearts all over the world tonight . . . " Y'all Know. Ok, so it will be slightly hysterical to hear Lil David sing the word "boo" but otherwise, good choice for his vocals.

Seriously, couldn't we get a little Michael Buble/Josh Grobin for Lil D . . . Possibly a little revamped Maroon Five for Rocker D . . . an, seriously, Rocker D, Collective Soul . . . really? Don't get me wrong, I like the song, but why not SOMETHING that tests him a bit. . . how bout doin a male version of some Shirley Manson and Garbage? I'm waiting with trepidation for the rest of the selections . . . what do y'all think?

More to come . . .

Possible Top 6 Results Spoiler

Our buddy DJ Slim over at IdolBlogLive is reporting a possible spoiler for tonight's result show. I won't post it on the blog, but I'll provide the link for all you curious kittens . . .

Possible Elimination Night Spoiler

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Official Spoilers from the folks at TMZ

The folks at TMZ have provided us with our weekly spoiler list. . . . interesting . . . potentially disasterous and potentially wonderous . . . we shall see.

1. Syesha - One Rock And Roll Too Many - Starlight Express
2. David Cook - Music of the Night - Phantom of the Opera
3. Carly - Jesus Christ Superstar - JC/SS
4. Brooke - You Must Love Me - Evita (Film Adaptation)
5. The Cuteness - Memory - Cats
6. Lil David - Think of Me - Phantom of the Opera.

TMZ's Offical Story

Rumor has it that this is the offical order of the evening. So, whatcha think?

I'm kind of bubbling about Carly, Brooke, and the Davids. IM SO HAPPY SOMEONE IS SINGING "YOU MUST LOVE ME". I didn't care who sang it, I just wanted someone to do it. YAY! This is not about me riding the Brooke train, y'all . . . I just REALLY love that song.

Let's hear some comments!

Very Interesting Top 6 Spoiler

DJ Slim over at IdolBlogLive is reporting the following two spoilers for tonight:

1. The Cuteness - Memories (Cats)
2. Carly - Something from Jesus Christ Superstar
3. Lil David - Think of Me (Phantom of the Opera)

Interesting, I would have pegged Memories for Lil David or Syesha . . . Lil David to do "Think of Me" - not terribly surprising. I don't have high hopes for this evening, but . . . maybe it will surprise me . . . La Carey and her theme night certainly did.

TMZ Top 7 Spoiler Link

It may have just been me, but I couldn't link to the Top 7 Spoiler List earlier, so I am reposting a spoiler link here from TMZ! Just click on the title above to get there.

We got an early start preparing for the night - by having frozen Sangria with dinner. I would say that Allison was right about a 2 drink minimum for tonight - but we have a 2 drink minimum EVERY Tuesday and Wednesday with Idol - so I guess we will have to step it up tonight! What are y'all partaking of??

The First Spoilers Are Rollin In . . .

DJ Slim over at IdolBlogLive has posted the first spoilers for tonight's Top 7 foray into the world of Ms. Carey. Very . . interesting . . . choices.

Carly Smithson - "Without You" - we already kinda knew this one
Jason Castro - "I Don't Wanna Cry"
David A. - When You Believe (Originally a duet between Mariah and Whitney)

A few comments here . . .

Again, I think Carly could create a bit of a moment here . . . if she'll just chillax

The Cuteness - Er . . . Um . . . Ok, this song is from La Carey's first cd, and it is a little less divaesque than some of her other ballads . . . but, um, I'm unclear on how this one is going to go . . . He's gonna have to unleash his romantical side and show us some passion. Goofy looks and cute smiles will not sell this one . . .

Lil David - A message song, but not the one I, or many others, thought. I hear there is an alternate version to this song that the wee, little one could be using. I'll try and find it.

Of note, Lil David choosing "When You Believe" could free up Hero for The Comeback Kid.

A Sucker Punch Down Under

Wha-?
Did that just happen?
It was a shocker to say the least. Lisa was excited that her bottom three played out, but we were both stunned that Aussie Mike got the boot. With all the predictions from Dial Idol and Tivo to the poll here pointing to Syesha, it seems like some shenanigans are afoot. Was Mike thrown under the bus, as they say? It sure seemed surreal.

Comments on the Song Choices -- SPOILERS

Wow...life anthem week is really not a lot of fun. At least on its face. Hopefully our idol wannabes will do something good for us so we don't want to slit our wrists and bleed out into the floor.

Here are some preshow thoughts:

1. Jason Castro's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." One reader of idolbloglive.com suggested that Jason would pull out this version:

This is a tough call. After K. McPhee did such and incredible version of the song during season 5 and since this is one of Simon's favorite songs, I'm not sure this a great move on Jason's part. But at least he will probably do this version and he should be towards the end of the line up which may save him.

2. David Cook's choice should be good entertainment and he should rock it out. Can't embed this clip but check it out at this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi2uOsApqII

3. Little David has made a good choice. We expect to see him at the piano for this song.

4. Syesha, Syesha, why, why, why. Syesha must you INSIST on violating EVERY Idol rule there is? This week's violation: No songs from past idols please.

SPOILER ALERT -- Songs for the Top 8

tmz.com has posted spoilers to tonight's song choices:

Syesha -- "I Believe" by Fantasia
KLC -- "Anyway" by Martina McBride
David Cook -- "Innocent" by Our Lady Peace
Brooke -- "You've Got A Friend" by James Taylor
Little David -- "Angels" by Robbie Williams
Jason C. -- "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
Carly -- "The Show Must Go On" by Queen
Aussie Mike -- "Dream On" by Aerosmith
