5000 and Growing, Y'all!

Hey Y'all!

With all of the shizz going on in this thing I call life right now, I totally forgot to acknowledge our 5000th hit! Holy Shizz! It continues to tickle me to no end that our little blog has been hit up 5000 times . . . actually, right now, we are knock knock knockin on the door of 5200!

So, as it usually goes here at A Little Taste of Idol, I have chosen to post an old school idol clip to commemorate the occasion. I was thinking about all of the famous . . . and infamous . . . Idol performances, and I remembered one that is not often mentioned anymore.

Take a trip down memory lane with me, won't you . . . The year was 2005, and the competition was American Idol IV. The final three performers were Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, and Vonzelle Solomon. A particularly spectacular final three if I am remembering correctly. However, what made this Top 3 stand out for me was that it featured, arguably, one of the boldest moves in Idol history! One Mr. Bo Bice chose to sing the song "In A Dream" . . . . ACAPELLA! IT WAS AMAZING! Thinking back on that performance still gives me a bit of a chill.

I hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane!

And keep checking in for more Idol and Nashville Star updates!

4000, yo!

In all of the hubub going on in all of our respective lives, we have neglected to note the 4000th hit on our little blog. So, in response to this milestone, I thought I would post two different youtube clips.

First, I thought I would post the one single performance on American Idol this season which represented "The Turn Around". This performance was the only one of the season, IMO, that was a Holy Shizz moment. A moment where you were like, wow, I was wrong, maybe you can sing . . .

May I present, Kristy Lee Cook singing "Anyway"

Next, I will post one of the better performances on Nashville Star this past week.

Let me present, Pearl Heart with "Wide Open Spaces"

Thanks for reading . . . .

3000 Hits Y'all! Holla

I just checked the counter and we have surpassed 3000 hits. I think it is so cool. A little blog that we started so we could communicate cross country bout Idol shizz has some readers! That rocks! To commemorate the big 3000, I am posting a link to one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Idol performances. Think back . . . the year was 2003 and the finale was Clay and Rueben. On the finale results show, one Ms. Kelly - I AM THE ORIGINAL AMERICAN IDOL BITCHES - Clarkson walked on stage and sang "One Voice" with the AI 2 contestants. The performance is great, but what cracks me up is how Kelly out sings the other 12 people on stage. She's like, yo, I don't know who these fools think they are and what they think they are doing, but I'm bout to show them how its done . . . word. Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

2500 Hits: A Quarter of 10,000, Y'all!

In honor of our 2500th hit, I thought I would play off of the Top 4 Curse, and post, what I think are the best performances of the victims of the Top 4 Curse . . .

First up, Tamyra Gray . . . L and I used to sit in the car round about 2am and listen to this song on the AI 1 compilation CD . . . May I present, "A House Is Not A Home"

Next up, LaToya London . . . Again, L and I LOVED her . . . I can remember in the Top 32 of Season 3 when Ms. London showed up - without any pimping during the auditions - to sing in the pimp spot of one of the "weeks of 8" . . . May I present, "All By Myself"

Finally, Chris Daughtry . . . Also, a clip from the Top 32/24 section . . . Most of us first took notice of The Daughtry when he channelled Fuel . . . May I present "Hemorrhage"

2000 + Hits, Y'all!

Seems that our traffic has picked up a bit . . . thank y'all for checking in with us. We so started this blog as a way to hang out cross country and discuss a show we love! In the grand scheme of the web, 2000 hits is small, but, I think that we all agree that it's kinda cool. Hope y'all will keep checking in!

In celebration of our 2000th hit, I want to post clips of my favorite performances for the Top 6. Hope the other taste of idol folks will follow suit. Of note, 4 of my 6 perfomances were from the Top 24 . . . not a coincidence . . . Also, these performances ARE in a paricular order . . . for me . . .

1. Lil David – “Imagine”

2. Brooke White – “Love is a Battlefield”

3. David Cook – “Hello”

4. The Cuteness – “Hallelujah”

5. Carly Smithson – “Without You”

HUGE SPACE

6. Syesha Mercado - “If I Were Your Woman”

1500 Hits, Y'all!

I see that our little counter has eclipsed the 1500 mark. So, to celebrate, I thought we would kick it a little old school. Back in the day, the Gaiken, er, um, I mean Mr. Clay Aiken was one of mine and L's favorites. Since then, I wax and wain on my opinion of him; however, at the time, we were definitely ticket holders of the Clay Train. With that in mind, I'm posting a clip to commemorate our 1500th. This performance is probably one of my Top 5 all time Idol performances. So, without further ado, may I present one Mr. Clay Aiken from the AI 2 finale, singing (with full idol choir in tow) "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Enjoy, y'all!

WE ARE MILLENNIAL!

No, no, we are not 1000 years old, we are over 1000 hits!

In a very busy, hectic last couple of weeks, I have neglected to commemorate our
1000th and now 1100th hit! To celebrate, I thought I would post a clip from American Idol 4. A note to Ramiele: This is how its done.

Y'all keep checking in with us!
