The New York Times has published a very interesting article on Adam Lambert and American Idol. In the article, the authors ask the question is America ready for an openly gay idol . . . if Mr. Lambert is indeed gay. The article is of particular interest becasue they use the topic of Adam Lambert and American Idol to discuss the state of homosexuality in the United States today. It is a VERY interesting read. The New York Times article is beautifully written and asks the right questions, it's such a joy to read professional journalism. As much as I like statements like "in touch with his inner Maybelline girl" I am wondering if this isn't in a way patronizing? Bottom line: I hope that those who like Adam Lambert's talent vote for him and that he comes out as the winner.
