Alright, y'all, so, we are half way through this obsession we call Idol . . .
I thought I would post a couple of links to Andrew Lloyd Webber . . . just in case y'all are just as uneducated about this topic as I am. Also, here are a list of the broadway plays of Andrew Lloyd Webber to give everyone an idea of the songs from which the idols could choose . . .
I'm posting these links even though I think there is a distinct possibility that this theme is simply "Broadway" and not specifically Andrew Lloyd Webber . . .
If it is just "Broadway", Allison and I are requesting the songs of "Mama Mia" Yay, Abba! Specifically, can I request that Carly Smithson - whom I love - remove the stick from one of her orafaces and get her groove on with a little "Dancing Queen". She may be uptight, but only she and The Hotness have proven that they can actually work that massive stage . . . remember her during "Come Together" . . .

OK J....I am deeply disappointed that YOU don't know the music of ALW.....c'mon.....Phantom...Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, Evita.......I mean....he's no Stephen Sondheim.. . (by broadway standards)...but Andrew Lloyd Webber is the pop idol of modern Broadway....
Am I the only one who is dying for this week???

Ok, Rubbertoe, I feel a challenge upon my alternative status here . . . ya gonna take away my toaster over . . . huh (insert alternative 35 year old man bowing up) . . . I know a weebit of the ALW . . . I'm familiar with the Phantom (hello, Lil David) . . .and the Cats (hopefully, Ms. Brooke), and the Evita (I really need for rocker David to remake Don't Cry for Me Argentina into an emo death march) . . . so, nahhhh (insert tongue sticking out at you) Rubbertoe . . . :) teehee
Ok, I lost a little bit of my momentum there because the damn blog edited out my exact comment . . I suppose I could have typed it wrong, but surely that didn't happen . . .

Ok....you've rehabilitated yourself. I mean....who wouldn't love the kitchy performance of Glenn Close as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulvard....or the Diva "Betty Buckley" version of "Memory". While I would love to hear some of the more (and melodically more beautiful) obscure songs from some of the lesser known shows...I have a feeling that we are going to get "All I ask of you", "Wishing you were somehow here" from Phantom...."Memory" from Cats....
Though I am betting that although I don't think he will do "Gethsemane"....David Cook will do something from JCSS.
